Moose's Wish List
I apologize for the length of this - it's really intended to give an idea of my taste and the sorts of things I like, rather than me trying to be greedy.
If you wish to know sizes, whether or not I already have something, my favorite styles or authors, etc..., please contact Bill.
Also, Bill and I have added a family wishlist for those things that either we both want (and would therefore
make good presents for either of us) or for those who would rather buy something a little bigger for the family as a whole. Be sure to check it out!
- I LOVE my gym membership; it is awesome! It is also, sadly, expensive over the long haul. I pay $39 a month, so gift certificates to World Gym
in Peachtree City OR cash to pay for it is always appreciated.
- Gym clothes - sleeveless shirts and long loose fitting yoga style pants (2XL); Target carries my favorite line of these. Also a pair of jogging
pants and/or a good exercise hoodie to keep me warm in colder months would be nice.
- A belly dance scarf (preferably in purple and with lots of jingles!) for those times when I can make my belly dance class
- Biggest Loser workout soundtracks
- I'd love you forever if you got me a membership to Massage
Envy, or even just a few pre-paid massages.
- I'm Disney crazy. I love all things Disney, especially DisneyWorld. Disney gift cards or Disney Dollars or pre-paid tickets or room reservations would be dreamy!
- Maybe it's just me, but a family pendant from Thumbies sounds
awesome. Expensive, though. Really really expensive.
- Any or all of the Christopher Moore books
- Neil Gaiman - I've really just fallen in love with some of his stuff, particularly the stuff aimed more at juvenile fiction
- I dream of a Kindle SO much. I'd like it even better if it actually came with a Netflix-style subscription service rather than having to purchase
books, but I digress.
- iPhone, the Missing Manual
- The one downside to losing so much weight is that my clothes are falling off me. I can't even tell you what size I am any more as it has changed
too much recently. My favorite stores for shopping at include Lane Bryant, Sears, JCPenny, and LL Bean. Just about anything would be lovely,
though I am hoping to have slightly more stylish and tailored things in the future as I'm tired of always looking so sloppy and oversized.
Gift certificates are always appreciated.
- Some additional matching pieces for my tea set, so I have enough tea cups for everyone plus some plates for snacks and a few serving dishes. The
pattern is Johnson Brothers Old Britain Castles Pink. Specifically, I really want 4 more tea cups and 4 more saucers, plus 8
dessert plates, a pair of candy dishes, and a sandwich tray. Be warned that there is apparently a subset of this pattern for the Christmas edition,
with a Christmas tree on it. I don't want that. I want the ones with little pink castles, as the name of the pattern would suggest.
- A spa pillow to lean my head on while relaxing in the tub, like this or this
- A massaging back rest with a light for reading in bed
- Some original artwork; I love subtle things, particularly ones with texture or substance, and I love stained glass and carved wood. My favorite
style of art is impressionistic, though not necessarily classical impressionism, and I generally hate modern. Obviously nothing that would be
inappropriate for children will do :-)
- Speaking of artwork, any prints (preferably signed) or even original pieces (yeah, right!) by Thomas "Tom" Canty. The only one I have is "White
Raven", which Bill gave me for our 11th anniversary. Here's one place that carries them, though there may be others: Artists UK
- Wood hangers for my closet - I'd really like some natural wood (no dark stains on the wood, please, or they won't match the rest of the closet)
shirt hangers - the kinds without the clips on them to hang pants, just arms to hang shirts. Preferably with no-skid stuff on them, but that's
certainly negotiable. Target has had some beautiful ones that I love, but I can't find them online now.
- My car charger for my iPhone has died. Again.
- I would love some sort of pretty sewing basket or box that I can keep on my desk for mending. I'm frankly stunned at the sheer amount of
mending I have to do in order to take care of m family. Anyway, something with a place for full-size spools of thread, some needles, maybe
some compartments where I can keep all the extra buttons & safety pins & straight pins, and a cheerful little pin cushion. That sort of
thing. And something that looks nice and makes me feel happy to look at frequently and to use.
- A full-size digital piano with full-size keys and a full, 88-key keyboard and with weighted keys (I miss having my piano!); no special voices or
features needed, though a damper pedal and a stand would be nice as would a headphone jack so I can practice without disturbing anyone. Yes, I
realize that these are horribly expensive and, no, I don't expect to ever get one but I can dream, can't I? Here's the one I'm dreaming of: a
Yamaha Arius YDPV240 88-Key Graded Hammer Piano. I also found one at the
local music store that's pretty nice for only $900, though it may have been on sale when I saw it. I'm saving money in a box for my
"digital piano" fund, so if you'd like to contribute directly to the fund, feel free!
